Ronan has 30 years experience in Business Development, Real Estate Development, Economic Development and Innovation Clustering with BuildOnline.com, Sisk, Avestus Capital Partners, DAA, The Green Way, Luna Systems and DCU Alpha.
As well as being the Executive Director of DCU Innovate:Hub, Ronan is also a co-founder of computer vision/Edge AI company Luna Systems, which is bringing safety technology to the world of two-wheeled transport. Ronan has also assisted large real estate organisations to build their own clusters and innovation ecosystems, as part of their ‘Scitech’ Real Estate strategies.
Prior to joining DCU, Ronan was previously Director of Operations for Dublin’s cleantech cluster, 'The Green Way' (renamed Sustainable Nation Ireland) where he was responsible for strategy, marketing and business development. Sustainable Nation Ireland became the national platform for the promotion of Ireland as a world-leading hub for sustainable finance, business and innovation, accelerating Ireland’s transition to a low carbon economy.
Prior to this, Ronan worked as Real Estate Development Manager for both Dublin Airport Authority & Avestus Capital Partners; Innovation Manager for Ireland's largest construction company Sisk; and as Business Development Manager for dotcom startup Buildonline.com.
Ronan is a graduate of DCU’s Sustainable Energy Finance programme, has a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from University College Dublin, as well as a Post Grad Diploma in Construction Project Management and an MBA from Trinity College Dublin.
