Connected Hardware

  • Impact Area

Connected Hardware and IoT has long been a core research activity of Dublin City University. This focus is also clearly evidenced in DCU:Innovate Hub, driven by highly innovative and fast growing indigenous companies like Taoglas, Tx Wireless, and Keltech IoE. When you see an autonomous lawn mower in someone’s back garden, it's likely that the antenna technology and sensors built into the machine have been designed and developed in DCU:Innovate Hub. Meanwhile, Dolmen Design is Ireland’s leading industrial designer with a 10,000 sq ft hard office and design studio in one of our buildings, as well as a series of standalone prototyping labs in which they develop connected hardware designs for some of the best known consumer brands in the world.
