Deirdre is an award winning marketing professional with extensive experience in strategic communications, brand development, digital engagement, and thought leadership. As Head of Marketing at DCU:Innovate, Deirdre leads the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and research commercialisation at Dublin City University.

In her role, Deirdre oversees branding, digital marketing, communications, and stakeholder engagement for DCU:Innovate, positioning DCU as a leader in technology transfer and industry-academic collaboration, ensuring that the commercialisation of the University’s research gains maximum visibility and impact in Ireland and internationally.

Previously Head of Marketing for Dublin City University, Deirdre has also held Account Director positions with Smatt Florence, New York and Ogilvy & Mather, Dublin, where her client portfolios included Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Leo Castelli Gallery, College of the Atlantic, Marks & Spencer, and Eircom, among others.

Deirdre holds a degree in Communication Studies (DCU), a Postgraduate Degree in Digital Marketing (DCU), a Professional Diploma in Executive Coaching (UCC), and is an alumna of the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) Leadership Programme and Advance HE’s Aurora Women in Leadership programme.

Deirdre’s additional qualifications include a Diploma in Image Consulting (Parsons School of Design, New York), a Diploma in Personal Image & Styling (Dublin Institute of Design), Diploma in Fashion Buying & Merchandising (Bourke College of Fashion, Dublin), and and a Certificate in Drama/Theatre Arts & Stagecraft (Gaiety School of Acting).
